May 25, 1928, the Business Men's Club
of Crosbyton invited the Rotary Club of
Rails to visit with them with a view to organ-
izing the Rotary Club of Crosbyton, which
was accomplished soon afterwards In the
early days of the club, there were many
inter-city meetings with other clubs, includ-
ing Crosbyton, Spur, Floydada, Plainview,
Littlefield and Post, as well as the Slaton
and Lubbock clubs One of the well-
remembered fellowship vehicles was the
"Fellowship Cup" contested for by chal-
lenges one club to another amongst the
five clubs of Spur, Crosbyton, Rails, Post
and Floydada Challenges consisted ofspelling matches, diving matches at Silver
Falls, one hundred yard running matches,
fast walking matches or endurance
matches of who could longest spin a half
dollar around a tin dish pan. Many other
gala occasions surfaced over the years
such as barbeques in the canyon, rural-
urban Farmer's Night, Employer-Employee
Luncheon, Faculty Night, Charter Night
and Valentine's Night.
August 30, 1929, during the administra-
tion of President Edd McLaughlin the club
began its regular 100% attendance meet-
ings which it continued for 196 consecu-
tive weeks It ended on May 25, 1933, and
at that time was the world record. At all
times the club has been consistently high

On Feb. 26, 1953, the Rotary Club of
