Rush Hour At The Post Office

The Hearty Six
Gimme gimme gimme!
sleet and snow to deliver the mail
but against one another for the
post office is only six feet wide.
This hampers their fine record of
fast delivery. In fact it sometimes
takes one week to transfer a post
card from one end of the post of-
fice to another.
Since the hearty six must get
to the mail sometime they ignore
the pacing of president Morris
who walks up and down up and
down in front of the wall of empty

ers in the ACC post office busy at
their task not of putting up mail
but of answering questions asked

ACC's campus for the 2700 stu-
cd&its' and '200 faculty members.

six dedicate . themselves to their
job of sorting letters mailing pack-
ages and reading magazines until
they find they have only 30 min-
utes to finish before 2700 students
mob the building after chapel
wanting their letters bills comic
strips Wall Street Journals Play-
boys and Pravdas.
When chapel is dismissed the
faint inrmuring ujhp stance
turns into a roar as ACC students
and faculty members battling each
other for a peek into their dusty
boxes are usually disappointed
when the expected letter or busi-
ness reply turns out to be a bill
from the bursar a failing slip or
a draft notice.
Floored Mail. After the rush
the hearty six must face the task
of picking up all the mail that was
pushed through the box onto the
floor by irate students because it
wasn't theirs.
Somebody may bellow "Why
didn't I get a letter?"
"Nobody wrote ya that's why"
comes the inevitable reply.
So it goes with the six hearty
individuals who war aganst the
3000-strong populace of ACC
freshmen sophomores juniors
seniors grads professors assist-
ants college presidents and bur-
sars. MILLSTONES
Converted. Walter H. Adams
longtime Dean of Abilene -Christian
College staggered acquainten-
ances this week by announcing
that he has become a Black Mus-
lim. Dr. Adams immediately
changed his name to Walter "X"
and began an intensve study of
Judo and the Koran. Dr. Adams has
also sworn off liquor and says
that he feels much better now.
Challenged. Abilene minister
Mid McKnight has issued a chal-
lenge to Billy Graham to the effect
that McKnight can make more
conversions during the fiscal year
beginning June 1964.
"I'll even handicap myself" Mc-
Knight muttered; I'll try not to
convert a single person for at least
a month; that ought to give Gra-
ham a head start. I don't see how
he can refuse a challenge like this."
Graham has refused to comment.
Arrested. Lissome Brigette B.
Wilkinson ACC's daring Dean of
Women has been dismissed from
her position on charges of indecent
exposure. The dismissal resulted
from a recent photograph of her-
self which appeared in Playboy
Magazine under the title: "Miss
February 29th." Miss Wilkinson
will appeal the desicion. "She is
yery flppealingwjnd jher lawyer.
