Officers pass on roles present annual honors

Along with recent changes in constitu-
tion structure and name; Students' Associ-
ation experienced one more change with
the passing' of the gavel from one executive
president to another. Wednesday marked
the oflicial day pi changing oi the
guard for newly renamed Student
Cotwicss as the 1998-99 officers
and committee members took 44bK

executive officers and class senators
replaced them.
Chapel began the process with former
executive president Kevin Lindcrman
senior Bible major from Belmont Calif.
speaking about what his time as president
and at ACO. He thanked the students fac-
ulty and staff for how they blessed him
during his time at ACU.
New. executive president Jonathan
Year the junior class was named Class of
the Year. The award Tor Congress Member
of the Year went to Randy Porter Campus
Concerts Committee co-chairman and
senior youth and family ministry major
from Levelland.
After old Congress members left the
new senators and executive officers dis
cussed planning for the fall. Mock said
those senators staying in Abilene for
the summer could participate in a
research committee for the
remaining by-laws of the new
amendment to the constitution.
Congress members already passed by
laws regarding the name of SAs student
government and the class offices. In Sep-
tember 1999; the new Congress will vote
on the remaining by-laws concerning dorm
and college representatives who will be
elected In the fall.
The Appropriations Committee con-
ducted Its last meeting April IS hearing a
request for the Kirk Goodwin Run. The
Men of Galaxy organize the event in mem
ory of its former member Kirk Goodwin.

money from SA. Without the requested
funds money for additional expenses
would Itave to taken out of the $10 entry
fee for the race. The entry fee money raised
is for the Kirk Goodwin fund and would be
more depleted the Galaxy members said.
Appropriations members discussed
whether to give $650 Coldwcll said. How-
ever because $175 had been raised junior
class senator Shanta Pandit management
major from Nashville moved that the
amount given be 5475. The amount was
passed unanimously.
Every student Is a member of the SA and
contributes to its budget $15 of their stu-
dent activities fee.
Next Wednesday at 5 p.m. Congress
members will meet in the Hilton Room of
the Campus .Center for the last meeting.
New senators for 1999-2000 school year
will meet and begin planning next year for
SA. Theyiwill also vote on the executive
officerSjVjclections for committee chairs
