The Corpus Christi Caller

The Corpus Christi Caller began publication in 1883, when, on January 21st, they published their first issue. Established by Eli Merriman, Ed Williams, and W.P. Caruthers, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times is still published today, though its location has moved three times since its founding. Captain Richard King, the founder of the King Ranch, was an original stockholder of the newspaper. A Texas State Historical Marker commemorates the first location of the newspaper at 310 North Chaparral in Corpus Christi, Texas.
