The pediment is part of the metal cornice. The windows are framed by decorative brick pilasters and are capped with decorative metal caps. The wood window frames are arched at the top and sitting on a brick string course and ledger course. The adjoining building to the right was also built by Charles Brunson in 1896.

The original design was Classic Revival Style, with a clock and bell tower. A tornado toppled the tower and buried the bell in the lawn. The clock and bell tower were replaced with a dome and clocks. Re-modeled in the 1930s with out many changes of outside appearance. Today the Colorado County courthouse is still an example of the Classic Revival style.
