Beer Tapping Apparatus.

Description: Patent for a new and improved beer tap. This design calls for the air pipe to go within the beer tapping pipe and for a pump to supply the air pipe with air. This eliminates the need of a rubber nipple to connect the air pipe, easily cleans the pipe coil, and allows for the tapping of the keg from without the icebox.

Description: Patent for a new and improved bell cord coupling. This design consists in "[a] cord connecting and tension device comprising essentially a shell or tube, a spiral spring, and a pair of slotted balls arranged therein, and a flat strip having round ends adapted to slide through said balls . . . [and] a sliding spring-encircled plate provided with screw-threaded and split end portions, and nuts fitted on the latter, in combination with a tube or shell, and balls arranged in said tube" (lines 89-100).

Description: Patent for a new and improved bellows attachment for barrels. This design "provide[s] means for securely attaching the bellows to the barrels, so as to exclude the admission of air, except such as is forced in by the bellows; and a further object of the same provides for the shutting off the flow of liquid, as desired" (lines 13-18).

Description: Patent for a new and improved bench clamp. This design, "[b]eing made of iron or other suitable material . . . is strong, durable, and inexpensive. It requires no bolts or screws to secure it to the work-bench or other object where its use may be required, and can be put in position and removed easily and quickly. It occupies but little room on account of its compactness, and can be applied to any piece of work without marring it" (lines 72-80).

Description: Patent for a new and improved bench plane. This design "consists in a stirrup pivoted to the sides of the plane in such a manner that the traverse piece of the stirrup passes through a transverse groove in the under surface of the plane, this groove increasing in height toward the rear of the plane, so that when the plane is drawn backward it will be slightly raised by this stirrup, so that the cutting-edge of the plane-iron cannot slide on the board being planed" (lines 10-19).

Description: Patent for a bicycle that has a drive wheel, a ratchet wheel attached to the drive wheel, a chain that goes around the ratchet wheel, an apparatus for reciprocating the chain, a guideway from the chain to the ratchet wheel, a knob on the chain that engages the guideway, a pair of levers connected to the chain, and a chord that connects the levers to the chain.

Description: Patent for a bicycle that can be operated by the operator's hands or feet or both, and the motion used to operate the bicycle is that of rowing. "the rider must assume a position upon the machine corresponding to that assumed by an oarsman in a boat, and as the rider can work with both hands and feet all the energy and strength he is capable of exerting can be brought to bear upon the propelling mechanism in a most effective manner, and the seat can be rendered much more comfortable than at present and in no wise interfere with the rider's movements" (lines 18-27).
