Description: Patent for a simple and inexpensive clothes pounder that has a conical casing, interior concentric partition, and equal draft and suction. The casing is divided into two compartments, but the divider has openings for air and suds.

Description: Patent for a new and improved clothes pounder. This design "consist[s] of an outer cone with openings and socket near its upper end, a plurality of smaller cones with open bottoms within the outer cone and having their upper ends secured to the bottom of the said socket of the larger cone, and a conical guard around the upper end of the outer cone and extended below said openings independent of the outer cone and terminating in a vertical depending flange at a distance from the said outer cone" (lines 77-87).

Description: Patent for a clothes-pounder that is simple and effective with the operator using the minimum amount of energy. It is conical with a smaller cone inside it. A diaphragm is between the cones and the brace, and an is air vent inside it.

Description: Patent for a clothes pounder "which will inclose a body of air and expel the same when it is brought down upon the clothes forcing water through the clothes and filling with water an upper chamber, and which when lifted from the clothes will release a body of water at the top of the pounder and cause water to pass through the clothes" (lines 12-19).

Description: Patent for a clothes pounder used in washing clothes. It is a pyramidal vessel that is open in the bottom and has perforations on the top of the inside of the vessel, a cap covering the top of the pyramid with an air-hole, a sleeve that goes through the top of the vessel and through the cap, a handle in the upper portion of the sleeve, a diaphragm with perforations in the base of the vessel, a rectangular box secured beneath the diaphragm, and inclined tubes open at both ends of the angles of the vessel.

Description: Patent for improvements in atmospheric clothes pounders: "Dividing the outer section into compartments so that air in escaping is distributed evenly from all sides of the pounder instead of escaping in a body from one side, whenever the pounder strikes a wad or knot of cloths and is tipped sidewise; it also makes the suction better" (lines 49-55).
