Description: Patent for a new and improved baling press. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of the rounded meeting ends of the main levers and the equalizing-link connecting the same; the rounded meeting ends of the toggle-levers concentrically arranged with reference to the sill-bearings; the perforated connecting-pin for the upper ends of each pair of toggle-levers, and the securing-bolts thereof passed through the heads of the toggle-levers; the end openings in the lower portion of the baling-box and the vertically-reciprocating doors in connection therewith" (lines 19-30).

Description: Patent for a new and improved baling press. This design consists in "the combination of sill having uprights or fulcrums, levers mounted upon the latter, a follow-block connected to the inner ends of said levers by loose joints, a vertically-sliding follower, rods connecting the outer ends of said follower with the outer ends of the levers, and mechanism for operating the follower . . . the follower moving vertically above the sill, levers pivoted to uprights or fulcrums upon the sill, and having inner beveled ends, a follow-block loosely jointed between the inner ends of said levers" (lines 64-77).

Description: Patent for "baling-presses, and has for its objects to provide a simple and efficient apparatus embodying a rebounding plunger; to provide means for regulating the resistance offered to the advance movement of the forward head-block; to provide improved means for tucking the material during the advance movement of the plunger; to provide means for regulating the length of a bale; to provide means for automatically inserting a head-block when a bale of the desired length has been formed; and to provide means whereby the raising and lowering of the press-box or baling-chamber is accomplished by the draft-horses through the sweep, and without the use of jacks or other analogous devices."
