Description: The Anderson County Jail is a locally rare example of the Art Deco style, an architectural expression typically used on the design of public buildings. The jail has remained virtually unaltered since its construction. According to Sanborn maps, this building, the Anderson County Jail, was constructed in 1931. The building has been empty for some time now. Billy Bean documented the building in his 1980 survey. It was added in 1998 to National Register of Historic Places - Building #98000692
