Description: Copy of transcript for a bond for a piece of land originally sold to Peter M. Hughes by John Austin on behalf of Stephen F. Austin on March 17, 1833. The bond was then transferred from Hughes to J. Vaughan on December 20, 1833. Ownership of the bond was eventually transferred to Josiah T. Harrell and Leman Kelay who cancelled the bond and obtained a deed for the land on November 2, 1836.

Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Stephen F. Austin to James F. Perry, in which Austin discusses miniatures he has sent to Perry and the possibility of giving Perry a power of attorney if he is detained by the Mexican government for long. Austin also comments on the political situation in Mexico, predicting that there may be another civil war.
