Written on the front of the building is "Dignified Helpful Credit Co." and "Hardin Court Grocery and Market" Inscribed on the back of the photo, "What is left of Hardin Court. You know this was a concrete building here. This was so full of houses in here that you could barely see between them. Of course the street has been cleared. These were all taken three weeks after the storm you know and not half as bad as it was."

This was one of the oldest houses here and was the same distance from the bay as the other - that is it was on the same side of Water St. But there were buildings across the street between it and the bay. Notice the furniture upstairs."
