Ninth Annual Reception Alumni Association Denton High School

Description: The program for the Ninth Annual Reception of the Alumni Association at Denton High School on May 20, 1915, at Elks Hall contains an order of addresses, a list of toasts, and the lyrics to "Auld Lang Syne." The program was printed on cream paper with a watermark that says, "Dresden Paper," which meant it was produced by the Dresden Paper Mills Co. out of Dresden, Maine.

Description: Frame home with Mr. and Mrs. Z. Wiggs and three children, Rua, Noah, and Grace, in the yard. Written on the back, "The Wiggs family home located at 218 Blount St. in 1912 with Mr. & Mrs. Wiggs and 3 of their children Rua, Noah, and Grace (Grace who was later killed in 1925 in an early car wreck in the western part of Denton County). Blount St. no longer exists, but it used to run north-south from McKinney to Sycamore Street.

Description: Six different head-and-shoulder portraits of C. A. Williams printed very small on one piece of photographic paper. Very likely a proof sheet. Charles Alexander Williams was born in Arkansas in 1832 and died in Denton County in 1922. He was Sheriff of Denton County from 1856-1858, and then once again from 1866-1867.

Description: The No. 30 and No. 40 Denton Traction Company streets cars in front of the Denton County Courthouse. The unidentified conductor for the No. 30 is standing next to the car and an unidentified passenger stands in the door. An unidentified passenger is standing in the door of the No. 40 car. The cars are standing at the diverging point for the lines at the intersection of Elm and Hickory streets. The streetcars were made by the Danville Car Company.
