On the left side (north) of the photo books are stacked on the floor waiting to be shelved. On the right side (south), four panels of carvings by Lynn Ford, lean against a wall waiting to be hung. The plants in the atrium were maintained by the Denton Garden Culture Club who also funded the project. Ten white pendant lamps made by the Beaumont Mood Lighting Co. of San Antonio, hang from a wooden ceiling.

Emily Fowler served as librarian of the public library from 1943 until January 1, 1969, and as librarian emeritus until her retirement on October 15, 1969.

Three newspaper clipping provide a brief history of the early settlements in Denton County, including the Bridges Settlement. The clippings also include photos of Hebron Baptist Church and the last standing cotton gin in Hebron circa 1963.
Burial of John B. Denton
Group of individuals on the Denton Square for the burial of John B. Denton on the lawn of the Denton County Courthouse. The pallbearers are E. B. Orr, L. Willis, J. M. Swisher, John W. Gober, J.H. Hawkins, and W. C. Wright. The Minnis and Curtis Drugstore can be seen in the southeast corner of the square. The Exchange National Bank can be seen in the background. This photo was given to the Library by Bess Minnis McFadden, according to a Denton Record-Chronicle article from July 2, 1967.

Burial of John B. Denton on the lawn of the Denton County Courthouse. The pall bearers were John W. Gober, E. B. Orr, L. Willis, J. M. Swisher, J. H. Hawkins, W. C. Wright. Rev. J. T. Denton, one of John B. Denton's sons, was in charge of the services. Son John B. Denton, Jr. and grandson Wiliam Baker were also present.

C. A. Williams House
Exterior view of the C. A. Williams residence, "Goose Ranche" on "Quality Place." The house is a one-story frame with a picket fence. A woman and three children, all unidentified, are standing on the porch. "Goose Ranche" on "Quality Place" was a family joke, according to Alec Williams, great-grandson. The house was located on the south side of west Oak Street and was across the street from Will Williams' house. He never lived in it as an adult, but may have as a boy. Written in pencil on the back is "Mrs. Will Williams" which we presume to mean that the photograph belonged to Mrs. Will Williams.
