Description: Early Hereford resident, Carl Mountz. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years. He was a telegraph operator, ticket clerk, and Western Union agent. He married Miss Colla Lambert on Sept 12, 1912. He bought a farm, now occupied by Northwest Elementary School. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church.
