Description: George Alsdorf Faulkner Parker came to Hereford in April 1902. He became president of Western National Bank. He operated this bank until 1931 when it was purchased by the First State Bank of Hereford. This bank later became the First National Bank of Hereford. He contributed financially to the community. He married Mary Louis Wilson who was a teacher at Panhandle Plains Chriatian College. She put books in at the bank which later led to the start of the Hereford Library.

Hereford Residents - H. V. Stanton

Description: H. V. Stanton was the first principal of Hereford Junior High School in 1946, located where the Stanton Gym was. He coached high school football during these years and became the full time principal in 1949. He died in spring of 1954. The school was remained Stanton Junior High School shortly after his death.

Description: Mr. and Mrs. John L. Wilson. Mr. John L. Wilson married Frances Amelia Roberts on December 22, 1896 at Pilot Point, TX. They moved to Deaf Smith County in 1905 to a ranch in the Garcia Lake area. They had 12 children. In order for the children to attend public school, they built and lived in the 4 Mile Home. Later they moved to the 25 Mile Ave. home in Hereford.

Description: Mrs. Minnie Cox Walker on Pioneer Day in 1958. She was the daughter of J.C. Cox. She was Deaf Smith's first white bride when she married Cal Walker on January 14, 1890. Her daughter, Alice Walker was the first white baby born in Deaf Smith County.
