Description: Photograph of a woman preparing food amidst a group of men and women in a rebel camp. Women would often follow their husbands and other family members during the Mexican Revolution as they marched to various locations, to care for them. To the right of the woman, the contents of a bag are strewn about, revealing what women would haul day in and day out, dishes, canteens, pans, and sacks of food among other things. If needed, women were also known to have fought alongside the men. Such women are referred to as Soldaderas.
