The letter has a letterhead with black text that reads: "The Rosenberg Herald" 'Fort Bend County's Leading Newspaper' NO2-3737 Rosenberg, Texas [in black border] Memo From the Desk of Don Bryant Editor-General Mgr." The type written letter reads: " 3/25/60 Dear Mrs. George: Found this in our files - - an aerial picture of your ranch. Thought maybe you'd like to have it. Regards, [signed] Donald B. Bryant, Editor - Gen. Mgr. The Herald-Coaster". An aerial photograph, 2000.048.007b, was enclosed with letter.

Description: Photograph of Jean Kiger with enclosed letter 2000.042.009a. Kiger was associated with Mr. And Mrs. Albert Peyton George through the Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition where Kiger exhibited George Ranch cattle. The graduation portrait of Kiger shows her dressed in her graduation cap and gown. The cap partially covers her shoulder length dark blonde hair. The photograph is secured in a tan folder. The interior of the folder secures the photograph with a matte. The matte has an embossed frame around the perimeter of the photo. Engraved in silver and centered below the portrait: "Wheat Studio". Image dimensions are approximately: 11 cm X 16.1 cm.

Small white pump house with tank to left of tree trunk. Wooden fence in left background, wire fence from center to right background. A smaller oak tree to the right of photo has ferns planted around it. Long white building in extends from left center to right edge of photograph. Written on back of .001 in ink: "AP George Ranch 192". 001 also has an alternate ID 77.84.101 and was listed in the Fort Bend Museum with this number as being "given to the George Foundation 7-16-82".

According to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual", the oak tree was planted in 1824 by Nancy Jones. A ladder can be seen near the bottom branches on the left side of the tree with a picnic table near the ladder. There are two wooden picnic tables and two white benches in right corner. Shrubs in foreground. Partial view of a white building on right. Wooden fence leads to George barns (roof tops visible in left to center background). A small white pump house is almost obscured by the trunk of the tree near center. The storage tank sits to the right of the pump house. Long white building on other side of wire fence in left background. Written on back of photograph in blue ink: "Oak Tree at Georges 100 yrs old-". Stamped on back of photograph in black: "Photograph by David J. & Mattie V. Morris Box 428 S. Houston, Texas 2709".
