Date: February 3, 1955
Creator: Hernandez, F.A.
Description: Letter from F.A. Hernandez, President of League of United Latin American Citizens Council Number 132, to Frank M. According to the letter, LULAC Council 8 Lodge was raided by the Texas Liquor Board, which found the operation of an open saloon at the LULAC lodge. This resulted in a "flow of bad publicity" as well as being "subjected to considerable embarrassment and criticism." Hernandez calls on Pinedo to take swift and "stern corrective measures" to resolve the matter of Council No. 8 to bring order and stability back to other LULAC councils as well as Council No. 132. "We cannot sacrifice our past accomplishments and future goals, because a few deviate from the only known course leading toward our Aims and Purposes."
