- Copy negative of two buildings. The barracks are located in Camp Bowie. Camp Bowie, located at Brownwood in Central Texas, was a military training center during World War II. It was established in September 1940 as an infantry and artillery training center. The sign on the front of the first building has the text "Engineer" printed on it and hangs next to the door. The barracks are lifted off of the ground and appear to be made of wood.

The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.
