Description: Copy negative of a wedding portrait of Sallie Parker Willis and Thomas Middlebrook Willis believed to be taken in Abilene, Texas. The photograph was either taken the day of the wedding or the day after. He is sitting in a chair on the right holding a hat, and she is standing behind him on the left holding her hat. They are in front of a studio background with columns. An official Texas historical marker was placed at Thomas Middlebrook Willis' grave in 2009 at the Masonic Cemetery of Abilene, TX. The historical marker states that after graduating from the Law School of Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, T.M. Willis moved to Abilene and established a practice. In 1886 he married Abilene resident Sallie Parker at the First Presbyterian Church of Abilene and the couple had eight children. Willis was elected City Attorney and later served as City Judge.

Kraft Cheese Display at Thornton's #1

Description: Photograph of a product display in a grocery store identified as Thornton's. The display consists of bottles of Kraft brand oil in small boxes surrounding an oven. On top of the oven, there are three signs, two of which are the same. Text on the duplicate signs say "Free Recipes Here! How to make any cake (requiring shortening) with Kraft All-Purpose Oil Fully Pink 29¢;" they also have a picture of a cake missing a slice on them. The headline on the middle sign says "Ladies! You Can Win Valuable Prizes in Thornton's Cake Bake Contest." That sign also lists prices and cooking ingredients, and has illustrations of a cake, oven, Kraft brand oil, and the exterior of Thornton's. In the background of the photograph, there are aisles of groceries, an unidentified man, and a banner sign that is partially visible.

There are four identical signs in the display; text on the signs say "Win a 21" RCA Victor Color TV Set in Parkay Margarine's BIG $75,000 Jingle Contest 45 Color TV sets - 354 Prizes in all...3 Contests First contest closes March 12, 1955 Second contest closes March 26, 1955 Third contest closes April 9, 1955."
