Senior Portrait of Schreiner Institute Cadet Dayton Stockton

Description: Schreiner Institute Cadet Dayton "Shorty" Stockton as a student was Lieutenant Colonel and Battalion Commander for the Schreiner Cadet Corps. He was named "Most Military Cadet", Secretary-Treasurer of the Officer's Club and Schreiner Institute Senior Class President according to the 1937 Recall Yearbook. Stockton would go on to serve Schreiner as Assistant Commandant and Commandant of the Cadet Corps in the 1940s.

The squad played an undefeated season of 10 games against opposing schools from all over Texas including Texas Tech, St. Mary's, Sul Ross and McMurray. Description: Daughters of Reverend Dr. W. M. Logan and Schreiner President Dr. Andrew Edington clean up outside the President's Residence with burlap bags over their shoulders. Heather Logan appears on left in plaid shirt and Rita Edington is on the right wearing stripes. The date noted on the back of this photograph (1942) is likely incorrect as Dr. Edington served as Schreiner President from the 1950's until the 1970's and Dr. Logan, for whom Logan Library is named, came to Kerrville in 1950.
