[Booklet: Annie Webb Blanton of Denton for the thirteenth congressional district]
Annie Webb Blanton (1870-1945) was an American suffragist, educator, and author of a series of grammar textbooks. Blanton was elected Superintendent of Texas Public Instruction in 1918, making her the first woman in Texas elected to statewide office. She was born in Houston and at 18 moved to Austin to attend classes at the University of Texas where she graduated in 1899 with a Bachelors of Literature. In 1901, Dr. Blanton began teaching English at North Texas Normal School in Denton, Texas where she remained for 17 years. The school is part of the now University of North Texas.

Check from the Forestburg School Board to the Practical Drawing Company for $21.00; the memo line says "Drinking fount." The check is signed "Forestburg School brd., HB. Caddell, Sec." The back of the check has 3 stamps. One of the stamps is from Southwest National Bank in Dallas Texas, another stamp is from the Banking or Trust Company, dated November 28, 1921 also in Dallas. The third stamp is dated November 29.

Graduation announcement for the summer commencement ceremony at North Texas State Teachers College in 1928. The announcement is a plain sheet of cardstock; in the center, there is a raised image of the school's seal above the text, which reads: "The Faculty and Senior Class of North Texas State Teachers College announce the Commencement Exercises Wednesday evening, August fifteenth nineteen hundred twenty-eight at eight o'clock College Auditorium Denton, Texas."

Diploma from North Texas State Normal College certifying that Inez Evans has completed the necessary coursework to earn a degree of Bachelor of Arts. At the top of the document is an illustration of the Texas Coat of Arms; a star of five points, encircled by a wreath of olive and live oak branches The Certificate is signed by President William Herschel Bruce and President of the Board of Regents M. O. Flowers. At the bottom of the diploma it is embossed with the North Texas State Normal College seal.
