Description: Patent for a new and improved fire-kindler. This design "consist[s] of a tapered tube having lap-jointed edges, a retaining or clamping collar to hold said edges in position, perforations near the larger end, and the overbent flexible strips, said tube being packed with asbestus or other absorbent" (lines 77-82).
