The Four-gore skirt was made of ebony leaves which was accentuated with a tangerine-colored blouse of finely clipped aster-glow bougainvillea petals. Her bolero jacket was of white bachelor buttons. An ornamental pin of bachelor buttons was sprinkled wiht glitter. Hat with rolled brim was decorated with flowers, to represent a feathered plume, and purse, gloves and shoes were of crused ebony leaves. Dark bougainvillea petals became 1,700 embossed "peacock eyes' and the bodice required 3,400 peach-colored bougainvillea petals. Golden petals from the same flower were used to fashion the headress and circular skirt. Jewelry was made from turnips (for pearls and radishes (for gold). Her nails were covered with single flower petals, and 15,650 bougainvillea blossoms were required for the entire costume.
