The bolero was green and white striped, using inside of 24 grapefruit. Her alligator bag and matching pumps were made with 16 eggplant while the pillbox and glvoes were of red poinsettia leaves.

The Four-gore skirt was made of ebony leaves which was accentuated with a tangerine-colored blouse of finely clipped aster-glow bougainvillea petals. Her bolero jacket was of white bachelor buttons. An ornamental pin of bachelor buttons was sprinkled wiht glitter. Hat with rolled brim was decorated with flowers, to represent a feathered plume, and purse, gloves and shoes were of crused ebony leaves. Narrow belt of clipped boungainvillea matched the blouse and earrings were fashioned of the silvery, reverse side of cenizo leaves.

Golden petals from the same flower were used to fashion the headress and circular skirt. Jewelry was made from turnips (for pearls and radishes (for gold). Her nails were covered with single flower petals, and 15,650 bougainvillea blossoms were required for the entire costume. Ten Garden Club members worked for 156 hours, and cost of materials totaled $18.00. The club received honorable mention.
