[Stock and die]

Description: The stock of the die is rectangular shaped with two long handles that come out opposite sides. One handle is part of the rectangle while the other screws on to tighten or loosen the five dies inside the stock. The rectangular part of the stock has a 10.5 cm X 2.7 cm rectangular opening into which the dies fit. On the dies are several engraved numbers. Handle has a carved leaf pattern on one side with three brass bolts: top two are 1.2 cm in diameter and have no surface decoration, bottom bolt is 2.2 cm in diameter and is stamped with an eagle and with "Warranted / Pat. Description: Photograph of "John McNabb, perhaps about 1890. Born in Scotland in 1806. (Exact date unknown). Died April 27, 1894; a member of the Santa Fe Expedition.
