Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Stephen F. Austin to Capt. William Dimmitt, in which Austin informs Dimmitt that he is to transfer command of the fort and the town to Capt. Collinsworth immediately. Austin explains that the transfer of command is due to reports made by Governor Viesca and acting Alcalde regarding harsh mistreatment of the inhabitants of Goliad.
