H.T. Kealing

Description: Portrait of a man, labeled "Prof. H. T. Kealing" in handwritten text at the bottom of the photograph. H.T. Kealing (1860 - 1918) was a principal, teacher, writer, editor, and distinguished Methodist Episcopal layman. He was among the first generation of blacks to attend school during the Reconstruction. Kealing Junior High School in Austin was named for him.

[Principal G. A. Rosborough, Educator]

Description: Mr. Garfield A. Rosborough was principal of Pemberton High School in Marshall from 1944 until 1972. He was born August 21, 1903 in Harrison County, where he was raised and educated. He received his teaching degree from Wiley College in Marshall with graduate work at the University of Colorado. His entire career was spent at the local high schools.
