The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Thomas Johnson. Johnson was born in Dallas, Texas 9 April 1918. He was attending Washington University in St. Louis when he was drafted into the US Army. After serving for nine months he received a hardship discharge. Soon after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, he joined the Navy. Johnson tells of the pilot training he received at Murray, Kentucky prior to washing out of the program.
