There are at least two hundred rifles visible in the photograph; one soldier guards all of the rifles. Many soldiers have taken refuge under the shaded eves of the homes. Along the sidewalk, at a distance, a young girl wearing a while dress is holding a parasol and a child, also in white, is standing next to her.
