People on the boat are leaning out the windows to look at the camera. One boy is sitting atop the roof of the vessel and clutching his hat in his hand. Several other children are leaning on the railing of the boat and dipping their toes in the water. The bank of the river and several buildings onshore can be seen behind the boat, as well as a bridge that extends past the picture plane.
