Some cities, bodies of water, and geographic features are marked on the map (with relief shown by hachures). The accompanying text includes information about different regions of the United States (Atlantic Highland and Plain and The Mississippi Valley) as well as exercises regarding geographic and political features. Additionally, there is a physical map with purple coloring (which does not appear to be related to the map itself) and related questions. The textual pages have the number 25 and 28 in the upper corners; there appear to be page numbers above the map that are cut off but may be 26 and 27. Prime meridians: Greenwich and Washington.

On the first map, each of the states and territories is shaded, using various colors. Cities, roads, bodies of water, and geographic features are marked (with relief shown by hachures). On the opposite side of the page, the map of the western United States is on the left which has only geographic features marked (mountains shown with hachures and shading and bodies of water colored blue). To the right, the map of the North-West Territory has counties (in red), cities, and geographic features marked and labeled. There are page numbers at the bottoms of the maps: 23 beneath the North-West Territory, 24 and 25 beneath the United States, and 26 beneath the map of the western U.S. Prime meridians: Greenwich and Washington.
