Patent for a new and improved door check. This design "is to provide a means for preventing the jarring and noise incident to the sudden stoppage of a door or window-blind in closing . . . and to this end it consists of a hinge having one leaf provided with a case or box extending laterally from the back thereof, the said case or box inclosing a spring-actuated bolt which normally projects beyond the point of the leaf, and is arranged to engage with the other leaf of the hinge when the door is closed" (lines 7-19).

A letter addressed to The Chairman, Mitchell County Local Board No. 1, Colorado City, Texas from L. M. Fellbaum, Major, Q. M. C., Policy Supervisor dated February 18, 1944. Fellbaum advises that Mr. Thomas N. Carswell has been instructed to assist the board members or clerks in the processing of registrants due to the increase in physical examinations and induction calls, and due also to their recent change in clerks explaining that his assistance will greatly aid the local board in their work.
