World War One-era "small box respirator" gas mask, consisting of a canvas or cloth face piece, with inset glass or resin eye lenses, and straps that wrap around the back of the head. Photograph of a river below the sides of a mountain. The mountainsides are rocky and have small patches of brush near their bases. At the base of the mountain are power line towers and a road that has a wooden rail along the side of it that is nearest the river. The road is at a higher elevation than the river and the ground underneath the road has been covered by a stone wall. The river is very shallow and rocky.
