There are rafters that surround the small, one-story building, and several workers are building the skeleton of a future completed roof. There is a row of windows at the side of the building, and it is raised from the ground on short stilts. The wide dirt road in the foreground travels across the front of the building as well as the two small houses next to it on the left-hand side. There is an automobile parked at the side of one of the houses. A handwritten note which reads, "Members Building Taylor Chapel" is inscribed below the image, and a typed caption that reads "The Brills" is visible underneath the writing. There is also a typed note on the back of the photograph that reads, "(illegible) Scott and Penn building church at Taylor, the members helping".

The structure does not yet have a roof, however there is a belfry tower built at the front of the building which faces the right-hand side of the image. The front of the building is covered with wood beams and rafters. There are piles of wood along the side of the building. There is a handwritten note on the back of the photograph that reads, "San Benito, 1952 Mexican Church under construction (new building)".
