Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral monologue by Don Hawley. Hawley joined the Navy in January 1943 and received basic training at Camp Farragut. At Tulagi, Florida Island, he boarded USS LCI(L)-66 as a quartermaster. He also became a radar operator and expert gunner, and was eventually in charge of the entire quarterdeck crew.
