SWISH TO GUYS THRU DOOR
The North Texas State University lab band leaves
Dallas for a return engagement at the White House.
The band will play a command performance for the
president and his guests tomorrow night. This is
the second time this year the band has flown to
Washington. Traveling with the musicians is the
director of lab bands, Leon Breeden.
FROM ABOVE, LINE
The band had reserved an extra seat for a bass
fiddle, but the regular bass player had to cancel
his trip.m Substitute Toby Guynn (GUINN) turned ur
with an electronic bass he made for himself. The
electronic bass occupies less space than a sax or
a trombone. The special performance tomorrow will
be for the King of Thailand who is a saxophonist
by avocation and is a fan of good jazz. The
president hopes that the king will know a swinging
grouo when he hears it.
