Postcard of Balboa, a district in Panama City and the capital of the Panama Canal Zone until 1979. A hill sits at the center of the photograph and is covered in vegetation, as well as a few buildings. Additional buildings, trees, and roadways cover the surrounding area. A part of the Panama Canal runs across the distance, and shrub-covered hills spread across the far-off landscape. This postcard was kept by Victor Oppenheim during his travels as a geologist and explorer in the south and South American regions.
