Description

Statement of Lucia Valeska, the Executive Director of the National Gay Task Force, regarding the decision made in Baker v. Wade in 1982. The case would eventually be sent to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in 1985, where the previous decision would be struck down. The ruling would not be overturned until 2003 with Lawrence v. Texas in the United States Supreme Court.
