RICHARDSON IS HIT BY BUILDING BOOM
LONG, STREET SCENE
Until two years ago, the Dallas County town of
Richardson had managed to remain a sleepy little
farm village of two-thousand persons* Bat then the
town saw the completion of Central Expressway thru
its center and was soon doubled over with that
pleasant sensation called growing pains. First came
a new bank building, then a giant supermarket, then
a skyrocketing boom in residential housing. Now the
city is putting the finishing touches on a new

25-thousand dollar fire statteTJvalongiide the old
city hall. Two new elementary schools have been
finished, the high school enlarged and a community
house is on the MNfei drawing board. What's more,
a new 90-thousand dollar city hall, shown here, is
nearing completion. Richardson, on the whole, likes
its Ml sudden growth.
