Notes

Myra Texas. Aug, 28, 1923. Byrd, I wonder why I don't get some money. I wrote Mrs. Cushing to send me the rent but haven't received it yet. B. M. and John had their tonsils removed yesterday. Dr. Maxwell said John had to be circumcised so I had to have that done. So had both tonsils out. Dr. M. said John would soon be an invalid in his condition his adenoids were awful they are getting on perfectly now. It cost $70.00. Wonder if you could pay a little on it cost $30.00 for B. M., $40.00 for John. I saved $40.00 because Frank Mobin and Lela had theirs removed too. I'm not going to ask you for money if you want me to have [unknown] please just send what you want me to have. These are your boys and I think you would want to send a little money for them especially when you've been the one who runs us off. When I was with you I saved all I could and you didn't even respect me and gambled with negroes and was arrested weren't you? You are making $200.00 a month so I think you can share the rent of the house and about $75.00 of your wages. I'll have 3 children and you will only have yourself to support that will be $175.00 apiece. You may change but I can't [unknown] you have already and when you've been converted and trust in God then you can change and not till then for you're too wicked to be a good man if you don't love god. -Irene Please send a little money to help [unknown] you'll never pay it back send one less till you've payed the debt. go to church with Johnson and try to be good for some day you may want your boys. Your mother says you never will. Send me the little ____ wrote if you have it please.
