NEGRO ACHIEVEMENT DAY AT FAIR
The state fair of Texas holds its annual Negro
Achievement day...with one of the highlights...a
baby doll parade. The kids are competing for prizes.
The Negro Achievement day is sponsored jointly by the
fair and the Dallas negro chamber of commeroe...and has
grown to be the largest gathering of negroes in the
southwest.  This 3tear...the crowd is reported above last
year's 183 thousand.
HOPALONG CASSIDAY

The kids get their inspiration for

costumes

from all fields....with the payoff on imagination as
well as quality of costume.

And...gridiron greats inspire the entrants.

Finally...the Judges choose the winners....the China
doll first, the bride and groom second, and Uncle Sam
third. Sandra Louise Sanders of Dallas is the China
doll; Gloria Vercher and Johnny Walker of Dallas, the
bride and groom..Uncle Sam is Idel Bosun of Dallas.
