SANITY HEARING-1

LS. COURTROOM.
In Dallas, the often-postponed sanity hearing
of 22-year-.old Leon Peacock gets underway.
Peacock is charged with the November third
rape of a Dallas housewife/and is under
indictment on another rape and for the murder
of still a third woman in 1954.
MED. JUDGE.
The hearing is before a jury in Judge Wilson's
criminal district court. Court-appointed
attorneys for the defense, Clayton Fowler
and Jimmy McNicholas, are basing their case
on a Fort Worth jury verdict which ruled

Peacock insane in March of last year.

The

defense also contends Peacock was treated
for mental disorders last year.
OTHER ATTORNEYS.
Assistant district attorneys L Lindsay,

Alexander, and Thorpe represent the state.
