Maynard Moore says
the group is protesting an incident at the drug store
last Saturday, in which a negro student at SMU was
refused service at the lunch counter. Reinforcements
begin to arrive, and before long, 75 students,
including two negroes, file inside the store,
University Park police lieutenant John Ryan was sent
to the store, after one of the students called the
police department to advise authorities of the
( planned demonstration. The demonstrators fill the
booths and counters, and refuse to place orders,
unless the negro students are served. The drugstore
ibrary,
soon resembles a
C.R. Bright, the store's owners says the negroes will
not be served. He attempts to learn the name of the
student ts leader, saying he may sue him for damages.INSIDE
