  • Content Description: This home movie documents the daily lives and activities of the Roy E. Hill family including a boating trip and family vacation. The film begins with a family trip to a lake with boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, and picnicking (00:00-05:58). Footage of the family vacation is introduced with a title card featuring a sketch of tableware with the words "Meal Time" (06:18) and begins with footage of "Roadside Park" and US 180 signs, the family eating at a roadside rest stop, and road signs indicating the Hill's had crossed the boarder into New Mexico. In New Mexico, Gary shakes the hand of a Native American performing for tourists at the Apache Canyon Trading Post (07:04-07:21) followed by a shot of a sign advertising "White's City" (07:21). There is then a title card, "Carlsbad Cavern" (07:22) followed by footage of the family at the entrance to the caverns and desert landscape (07:22-08:45). Joann and Gary Owen pose in front of a sign that reads "Elev. 4222" at a scenic overlook (11:29-12:33) and the family walks through an unidentified city, likely El Paso, where a car advertises "Seaney's Flowers" on 414 N.
