MACKIN TRIAL
A second report of jury tampering appears today in the
murder trial of Fort Worth attorney Jack Mackin.
Prosecutor Dutch Winters tells Judge Magee he has been
informed one of the principals in the case contacted
a prospective Juror, and made improper proposals.
Defense attorney Clyde Mays demands a thorough investigation.

He is 22-year old Richard Dunn Abbott, son of Frontier
Pontiac Company-owner Tom Abbott. Winters begins the
examination, and Abbott testifies he was approached in
the hail of the criminal courts building Wednesday
morning by James Clardy, the co-defendant in the
slaying of Louden on August 4th. Abbott says
Clardy asked him to -say he didn't know him. But
Abbott says he has known Clardy a long time as they
