Hughes on a government motion that he has violated
the conditions of a bond. Estes is free on
10-thousand dollars borA on an indictment accusing
him of making false statements to the Commodity
Credit Corporation. A condition is that he not
leave the 100-county Northern District of Texas,
and Estes admits he has made a number of trips
outside the area.
United States Attorney Sanders says Estes has
adopted what he calls a "cavalier attitude" toward
the court. Sanders says Estes should be treated
like anybody else, no special privileges, and
should ask permission if he wants to travel.
