Behind this Park Lane mailbox in North Dallas stands the
modernistic home of Bruno Graf, which lost 220 thousand
dollars worth of jewels 4 wyin a 1959 burglary
that. still is unsolved. East of the Graf home, at the
two story residence of rancher Howell Smith, police are
working on a similar burglary, which apparently occured
sometime yesterday. Detective T.B. Tolison says the
missing jewelry is valued at 20,000 dollars, and includes
a diamond solitaire worth 10,000. Detectives say m
entry was gained by smashing the lock of an
upstairs bedroom window. Mrs. Smith told police she and
her husband spent the day alone downstairs, and she
discovered the theft about 10:30 last night. The jewels
were taken from a dressing room,
J.B. Hicks, of the crime lab, spent the afternoon checking
the home for possible clues. Police say there are
apparent similarities between the Smith and Graf
