Fire investigators move to the scene of a house-burning
in Northeast Dallas County, in a case that has more
angles than a geometry quiz. The frame home was leased
by Mesquite farmer Frank Borchardt (BURG]-ett), and it
burned to the ground about 10 o'clock last night.
Mesquite fire marshall 0'Neal says it was arson.
Ordinarily, the fire wouldn't have rated a full-.scale
investigation, but this was a special case. OtNeal says
he has confessions from three Mesquite residents, Mrs.
Sally Crane, Mrs. Dorthy Josch, and Mesquite dog-ocatcher
Jess Doane. Mrs. Josch reportedly told 2xX=%2XxEr
the arson was a public service, because, as she put it,
all sorts of bad things went on in that house. All
three suspects have been charged with arson.
The fire demanded special attention, because of an
incident which occured in this nearby barn yesterday
afternoon. The barn was also leased by Borchardt.
