An armed bandit lobbed the Safeway Supermarket
at 2950 West Berry in Fort Worth about 8:30 tonight,
and escaped with what is believed by police to bea large amount of money.
The bandit filled a cart
with groceries and waited until all M ikEr customers
had left the store, then pulled a pistol on Assistant
Manager Ray Turner and two other employees. He demanded
the money from two cash iegisters, then ordered
Turner to open the safe. He took the money from the
safe, ordered the three employees into a back roomxxxd and left.
He is believed to have joined a
companion who, served as lookout and sped away in a
green 1959 model Ford. In the store with the assistant
manager were Kenneth Dyleski and Jimmy Alford. They
described the bandit as young, about six feet tall anddressed in khaki clothing.
